WORLD IN ACTION JANUARY 4TH 1971 INVESTIGATE BROADCASTING IN THE USA

Commercial radio in the UK was just around the corner, with the closures of the pirate stations of the 60s it was inevitable. A brilliant quality CD looking at the USA system of broadcasting which is totally different from the UKs  planned version. Did you know at the time there were 6,200 radio stations in the USA? Its over double that now !! The average family had 4 radios and each listener tunes in to hear about 3 and a half hours each and every day!!! This CD looks  at the advantages and disadvantages of the USA system, the endless music, the endless adverts, the religious stations....... there is even a station that just plays adverts 24 hours a day!!!   Mixed with jingles and the odd advert, at the end of the recording there are over 20 minutes of good quality american radio jingles featuring, WMEX, WHK, WKBW, KGFJ, KHJ, WMPS, WQAM, KFWB, KWF, WLIF, WKGM, WABC, WPRO, WROP, WKNR, WIL, and KJR. Mixed with a few programmes from various other USA stations makes this a good quality recording telling the story of the state of American radio today. So if your an American radio jingle person theres a huge collection of them just on this CD. An interesting recording of the present state of American broadcasting in the 1970s.
